Mountaineering

The word “MOUNTAINEERING” indicates mountain touring on snow, and possibly glaciers or ice to reach a summit. Our MOUNTAINEERING products are designed for mountain touring in extremely high altitudes with crampons and climbing ropes on rocky and icy terrain. They are ideal for alpine climbing trips in variable and demanding weather conditions.

The key benefits include a rigid and extremely stiff sole for semi-automatic crampon use, a very abrasion resistant, stiff and clean upper with 360° rubber rand. Trekking

TREKKING is a common name for a strenuous march without the need for permanent accommodation, partly away from infrastructure such as roads or paths. Trekking is remote and takes place in sparsely populated areas. Our TREKKING products are designed for hut-to-hut tours in demanding alpine areas. Bad paths, trails, scree fields, and via ferratas are constantly on the way. Sure footedness and extra protection are ideal for trips lasting from a few days to several weeks carrying a heavy trekking pack (up to 70 litres). Weather forecast tracking is necessary since weather in the Alps can change immediately.

Hiking

HIKING is a form of long walking for several hours. Formerly it has been a frequent way of traveling, today it is commonly understood as form of moderate exercise associated with activities in nature on well secured paths. Our HIKING products are designed for single or multiple day-hikes in pre-alpine terrain, including tracks ranging up to the tree-line. They are the ideal choice for hikes of 2-8 hours duration with a medium size pack (approx. 30 litres) in all weather conditions.

It is an outer sole material and extremely hard-wearing. But the rubber is relatively heavy but mechanical and thermal stable.

How do I find the correct size?

The shoe should ideally be a little larger than your normal everyday shoe: there should be sufficient space, roughly the size of a thumb (1.5 cm) between the end of your foot and the tip of the shoe. This will mean that your toes won’t keep hitting the front of the shoe as you walk down the mountainside.
